Rose Muhando - Utamu wa Yesu

Rose Muhando is a gospel singer from Tanzania. She hails from Dodoma.

She grew up as a Moslem (Muslim) and was born in Morogoro. She converted to Christianity after having seen an apparition of "Jesus Christ" while ailing on her sick bed many years ago. She was trained musically by the Moshi-based, Mamajusi Anglican Choir where she developed to become a strong lead singer. With them, she recorded hits such as "Hey-Hallelujah" and "Homa ya Dunia!" (World’s Fever) shortly before shifting to Dodoma and joining St. Mary’s choir. She is sometimes backed with an entourage of ten singers-cum-dancers from her Dodoma- based, St. Mary’s Anglican Choir which is popularly known here as "Kitimu-timu".

Her maiden solo album "Uwe Macho" (Beware) was released in 2004.

Some of her songs are Yesu nakupenda, Kitimutimu, Mungu wangu, Nipe uvumilivu, Mwambinie mungu, Moyo wangu, Akina Mama, Mteule uwe macho, Yerusalemu, Nawaza mwendo, etc
