Group TK

East  African  dance  music has never sounded better since the emergence of Group TK!

This is a collaboration of guitar wizardly and vocal dynamite. It is what happens when you put together the best live performers, vocalists and instrumentalists.

Group TK comprises three experienced musicians from Kenya and Tanzania . Maroon Commandos solo guitarist Johny "Magneto" Ogega and singer Juvenalis Otukia, and Twanga Pepeta crooner Ally Choky.
"Magneto" Ogega joined Kenya Army’s Maroon Commandos in 1989 after a stint with Kolela Mazee (Victoria Kings B) where he played alongside benga songstress Princess Jully. As deputy band leader of the legendary Maroon Commandos, Ogega plays a leading role in the bands rendition of its broad repertoir of classics and new recordings, including the band’s latest album, Shika Kamba, released by Soundafrica.

Singer Juvenalis Otukia joined Maroon Commandos from another military band, Ulinzi, where he sung alongside the late veteran composer and singer Laban Ochuka.
For a long time, Ally Choky has dominated Tanzanian music as the mainstay of Twanga Pepeta and other bands. He has also sung and toured extensively with bands in Kenya and Tanzania, leaving a sterling performance record.

If you love Congolese Rhumba and East African Chakacha and Benga, then you will definitely love their fusion on the classics such as Walimwengu, Safari, Mwanangu, and the title track of the album ‘African Ribina’.
